borders are connections

the leash is too tight and it will not hold much longer

cracks and tears come through like lines on a face with old age

but the leash isn’t that old, it doesn’t want to be that old

it just needs a bit of respect, be relaxed more often and have a better bond with the pet and the master

but the master and the pet aren’t much interested in the desire of the leash

neither are they much interested in eachother or the tension that is

they each want to force upon the other their own will and fight relentlessly to get it through

the sad result is that neither gets their wish, neither feels comfortable

and the poor leash takes the pounding. it keeps them together and at the same time it is the weapon of their ongoing war

and so, it gets old, it gets tired and it longs for peace
